United Kingdom’s Reaction to Facebook Online Gambling

The United Kingdom has reaction with dismay to reports that Facebook, the largest and most popular social networking site, is contemplating entering real money online gambling.

An article in the newspaper, The Daily Mail, points out that there is in excess of 3 million Facebook users in the United Kingdom who are aged between 13 and 17 with a further million users estimated to be under 13 years of age but pretending to be older than that.

PokerStars, Full Tilt, Absolute Poker Given Extensions in ‘Black Friday’ Indictments

It appears that negotiations are ongoing in the war of paperwork between attorneys for the Department of Justice and those representing PokerStars, Full Tilt and Absolute Poker regarding those corporations Black Friday indictments. The first hearing in the criminal trial against Black Friday defendants Chad Elie and John Campos was also held this week, and well have a complete update on that tomorrow, but enough seems to be happening behind the scenes to warrant overseeing judge Leonard B. Sand to issue 30-day extensions for each of the companies, giving them until January 2, 2012 to respond.
