Saturday, November 12th, 2011Analysts list Top Five UK Online Gambling Groups
Wednesday, November 2nd, 2011Despite the fact that the economy is presently shaky, UK analysts have agreed that the future of the online gambling industry in the UK as well as around the world is expected to perform very well in the future.
Panmure Gordon, the top London brokers, recently listed the top five UK online gambling companies which they think are worth investing in, even though shares in internet gambling companies have underperformed this past year. It is the London brokers’ opinion that these five companies are considered favorable buys due to the fact that they have encouraging balance sheets and their earnings are constantly growing.
The London brokers published their research this weekend which stated that they are of the opinion that most companies traded strongly over Q3 and that valuations appear undemanding. H
National Football League Week 8 Betting
Monday, October 24th, 2011
Its time to talk about week 8 of the National Football League season. Lets talk about some of the best bets of the week. Here are a few of our favorites:
New Orleans Saints -13.5 @ St. Louis Rams
This is not a pretty matchup. The New Orleans Saints are red-hot, after scoring 62 points, and the St. Louis Rams are coming off a 7 point game. The Rams are winless, and the Saints lead the NFC South. We look for these trends to continue on Sunday afternoon. We are betting the New Orleans Saints -13.5 over the St. Louis Rams.
Detroit Lions -3 @ Denver Broncos
All people can talk about is the performance of Tim Tebow last week.
American wins WSOPE: James Bord forced to eat his words
Monday, October 17th, 2011
US poker pro Elio Fox went wire to wire at the final table of the 2011 World Series of Poker Europe Main Event despite taking on top European talents like Jake Cody, Chris Moorman, and Moritz Kranich. By doing so Fox showed the rest of the world and one former WSOPE Champion in particular, that the Americans can still play this game -as if anyone doubted this!
Prior to the WSOPE Main Event, 2010 WSOPE winner James Bord said that the game had passed Americans by, and there was no way an American could win the tournament. Making the prediction all the more meaningful was Bords offer to refund any bet on an American to win the WSOPE, of up to $500, placed on Matchbook.com, should an American win the tournament. Bord is of course one of the owners of Matchbook.com, and likely used his bold words as a marketing ploy.
Fox managed to cruise to the title, thanks to some impressive luck in key hands, and would have to face potentially his toughest challenge during heads-up play when he found himself pitted against poker superstar Chris Moorman. Even with a nearly 2-to-1 chip lead the smart money would have been on Moorman -one of the most successful tournament poker players in online history, and fast becoming a force on the live poker scene.
But Fox was up to the challenge, and took a commanding chip lead holding the 2-of-clubs with four clubs on board -Fox also flopped top pair, but Moorman mucked his hand, so we have no idea if Fox was saved by the flush or not. Despite the runner-up finish, Moorman needed to win the WSOPE Main Event to overtake Ben Lamb (who is still active in the WSOP Main Event). So, Ben Lamb is now the official winner of the World Series of Poker Player of the Year Award, and could very well win the Main Event to boot!
Here is a look at the payouts for the final eight competitors of the 2011 WSOPE Main Event:
1. Elio Fox – €1,400,000
2. Chris Moorman – €800,000
3. Mortiz Kranich – €550,000
4. Brian Roberts – €400,000
5. Dermot Blain – €275,000
6. Shawn Buchanan – €200,000
7. Jake Cody – €150,000
8. Max Silver – €115,000
As a final thought, the 2011 WSOPE was a tremendous success, with record-setting fields, a tremendous amount of interesting stories, and an excellent atmosphere in Cannes, France. Look for the WSOP to continue to hold the event on the French Riviera in the future.
Paddy Power Takes Steps To Enter US Online Gambling Market
Friday, October 14th, 2011The state of Nevada appears on its way to becoming the first in the nation to regulate online gambling. In the past year, lawmakers have passed a law that allows online gambling if the federal laws are changed. Foreign companies have taken note of the new law, and are acting accordingly. Paddy Power is a well-respected Internet gaming provider in Europe, and the Ireland based company is making their play to enter the US market when it opens up. This week, Paddy Power applied for a license in Nevada that would allow the company to manufacture and operate mobile gaming devices. Nevada regulators have been told by lawmakers that they should begin preparing for the possibility of online gambling becoming a reality within the next couple of years.
